About OnTrack PoV

Software for running Proof of Value and Proof of Concept evaluations, built to live on your own infrastructure — not ours.

Why OnTrack exists

OnTrack PoV came out of a simple, recurring problem: PoVs and POCs are where deals actually get won or lost, and yet most sales engineering teams run them out of a patchwork of spreadsheets, shared docs, and email threads. Success criteria live in one place, test results in another, and the customer-facing status update gets rebuilt from scratch every time someone asks for one. When a deal is on the line, that kind of manual bookkeeping is where things slip — a missed test, a stale criteria list, a closeout deck that doesn't match what was actually agreed to at kickoff.

We built OnTrack to be the single place a presales team plans, runs, and reports on an evaluation: a reusable template library to start from, a structured way to track every functional test as pass or fail with notes and screenshots, and a way to generate the Word, PDF, and PowerPoint documents a customer actually sees — the Test Plan, the update emails, the closeout briefing — straight from that same underlying data instead of a copy-paste version of it.

Why it's self-hosted

The teams we built this for often can't say yes to a cloud subscription, no matter how good the tool is. If you're a technology vendor selling into a bank, a government agency, or a defense contractor, your prospect's own evaluation data — their environment details, their success criteria, their internal notes — frequently cannot leave infrastructure they control. That's not a preference, it's a policy, and it kills otherwise-good SaaS tools before they get a fair look.

So OnTrack PoV runs on your own hardware, hosted wherever you choose. It's a self-hosted PHP and MySQL application, sold as a one-time perpetual license rather than a subscription. There's no per-seat meter — buy it once and add your whole team. That model exists specifically so the software doesn't become another vendor-cloud dependency that your most security-conscious prospects have to work around.

Who we build it for

OnTrack is built for sales engineers, presales teams, and technology vendors who run product evaluations as part of the sales cycle — and for the presales leaders who need to see status across every active PoV or POC at once, not just the one they happen to be closest to. If you've ever had to answer "where do we stand on the Acme evaluation?" by digging through someone else's inbox, this is the gap we're trying to close.

Where things stand today

OnTrack PoV is in active QA right now as we work toward general availability. We'd rather be direct about that than oversell where the product is. If you're evaluating it for your own team, or you want to talk through whether it fits how your organization runs PoVs and POCs, reach out directly — sales@ontrackpov.com. Pricing is shared on request while we finalize general availability.
